As discussed first at the PooBar and later on this forum, the Peddle Car Race for the Club Arnage Teams is still a possibility to take place at Le Mans on (mad) Friday June 16th 2006. Something rather important has changed in the mean time, the founder of this idea -Bobblehat- will not be able to attend this year's Race in June. Some guys from our team (DfH) are willing to take over the organisation, but we need to know if there is enough interest from other teams for the 24 Minutes du Mans. We as Drinking for Holland have taken it all well serious and bought ourselves a Go Kart frame. Of course we are very willing to anticipate in the 24 Minutes du Mans, and we'd like to know if any of the other teams would like to attend this race. I think we need at least four teams to be able to have some fun on the track...

Paddy, I don't think any of our lot ever intended to join in on this one, we'll all be far to drunk and would end up spoiling it for eveyone else. Suggestion: couldn't your RfH boys enter several cars? - there's cetainly enough of you.

Although we have enough people, this would not be in the spirit of Le Mans, we need a variety of nations (2 is enough!!) to participate in this race. We will select a time early enough for people not to be completely wasted, say 10 am

We are planning to have a pedal cart ready but so far little progress has been made.

I think we are still hoping to. The problem is how we are going to get it there as we will only have one van this year and that will be full of tents, gazebos, fridges, freezers etc.

Why not somebody just make two identical pedal that the various teams can use over the course of a couple of days of heats, semi-finals and a grand final on the saturday? Cost can be paid for by an entry fee. Save all the problems of trying to get a mirriad of different pedal cars to the Sarthe via Holland or on roofracks, which is a total nuisance.

Andy has a point there. We could save ourselves some trouble and buy something second hand off Dutch eb*y for as little as 100,- each, which would look like this>> But is that the true spirit of teams racing eachother?

Yep, I can just imagine some of us trying to fit into that! A mate of mine has bought one for his son. He fits in it himself, after shoving the chair all backwards - and he is 6'3" The only problem is the weight, that's at the back then, so a grown up is very likely to flip over backwards...
