On the way to pick up a Beer or two to go with my dinner I stopped in at the Liquor store ,which is where the good Beers are sold, and as I neared the cold beer section I noticed out of the corner of my eye a presentation package of... JP Chenet Cabernet/Merlot with 2 glasses.
won some fancy medal in Paris so probably quite palletable. I pressed on in search of the Warsteiner though and was tempted to the Konig Pilsener which was on sale and I am a sucker for  a sale.

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

I knew they sell Warsteiner over in the US but Koenig Pilsener is a surprise to me. Do they also sell Bitburger - the Eifel champagne -over there ?

I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

Oh yes, Bitburger is widely available here.  My favorites are probably Bitburger, Warsteiner Dunkel and Konig Ludwig hefe-weizen.  Had a few Bitburgers the other night.

Oh God this means you're missing Old Speckled Hen, Pedigree, London Pride, Spitfire and Bishops Finger, and Friday weeks choice - Samuel Smiths (I met his granddaughter once)

What about some of the other beauties.........
Panther Pi$$, Dog Bolter, Winter Royal and one of my personal favourites for the Yuletide "Santa's Sleighed" from the very fine Rebellion Brewery in marlow.

The Old Speckled Hen and Samuel Smiths is easy to find over here, the others I'll have to check for down at the Pony Keg.

My friendly neighborhood Italian Deli sells Bitburger in cans for US$13/24pk.  That was a "load the trunk for the Petit" deal this year.

I've also bought cases of Newcastle (cans) there for as little as US $11.

50 cents a can!  We're being robbed in the UK - this is why we go to France, to save money.  I've saved a fortune over the years.

So I'd save money if I went to Sebring too    Hmmmm  You know it makes sense.

That much - you'll have to go again.

A bottle of JPC is about 30 bob in France, and I've seen it for £5 over here.  So on my simple arithmetic you must have bought 1,000 bottles (or if it was beer 4,000 bottles)

Liver transplant early June?

Not quite, or that would have saved me £3,500.  Smiley

There are certainly bargains to be had though. £4.75 for a case of Stella, £1.60 for JPC, and Hardys VR Shiraz, 4 for 3 in Sainsburys made it equivalent of £7.50 a 3L box (£17.99 over here!) Plus big savings on spirits. And of course the cheeses and cassoulet.  Smiley

I forgot the port though so might have to nip across again!  Grin
