Are the riots spreading mainly northeast, or are they just spreading all over the place? I hope they get it all out of their system by June. I heard this morning that it has started to show up in Bel. and Ger. so hopefully it has started to move in the opposite direction of the track

and oh, btw, Hello
I'm one of the new guys that joined the same time as Hardpoint and Warlock
I believe Canada Phil met Hardpoint at Road Atlanta this year. For me, Sebring and LeMans are locked and loaded-as is the USGP. Looking forward to seeing all of you folks at the track Wink

Welcome Flobee,
Like you I'm finding these riots all a bit weird. However since the French love to turn up their noses at Americans every opportunity they get, most Yanks are watching this with a grin & a giggle.  Like you hoping to be at Sebring and the Sarthe, but the USGP?  You'll be one of the three hundred people there. I live in Cincy just a hundred miles away from Indy and I've got better things to do than watch the F1 girls, like clean the toilet.

A library and a primary school and a few cars burnt here in le Mans but they didn't attack the track and the museum for the moment...

... It's not so important that all foreign medias try to show it.

It's not a civil war and duriong the last month, you only (but it's already too much) 4 people killed.

THe national news in the UK are running the story and they believe the groups are passing intel via the net.

I'll be looking at this with added interest over the next few days, should anything come to the uk !

Regardless of who pull their noses up, people have lost their lives and their cars !!

Setting light to a library and a school isn't going to change the world, but this happens the same everywhere.

Thanks for getting my back Randy (nice pic of you and Great Dane too).
Robbo I wasn't making light of people being killed (cars being burned can be hilarious however) but those who often claim to be holier-than-thou should sometimes take a good hard look in the mirror.

Handy French phrases if you are travelling abroad...

Avez-vous un extincteur? - Do you have a fire extinguisher?

A quelle heure est le couvre-feu? - What time is the curfew?

Pourquoi brulez vous my voiture? - Why are you burning my car?

Avez-vous du feu pour allumer mon cocktail molotov? - Do you have a light for my petrol bomb?

Veuillez bruler mon Citroen parce que c'est merde! - Please burn my Citroen because it's crap!

Mes beaux citroen la voiture sont sur le feu! - My beautiful citroen car is on fire!

Vous avez cassez mon voiture et avez brűlure mon maison et chien, mais pourquoi pas vous tuez my épouse laide avec ses aisselles velues et dentes heurreusse? - You smashed my car and burned my house and my dog, but why didn't you kill my ugly wife with her hairy armpits and horrible teeth?

What a farce!!!!

Even worse, did you read the end of the article!!

"Monza is not the only event to come under threat recently. The equally famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium hit financial problems last month when the promoter of the GP was declared bankrupt. Spa has a contract until 2010 and the regional government is reportedly considering Bernie Ecclestone to take over the race. "
