I am Karting with a bunch of GT40 Enthusiasts at Aldershot on the 30th, I will see if I can get some of them to join us.

Some of the GT40 lot are interested, but said it was to early to commit themselves

I know that my Tom and Michael (if he's allowed, he's only 10, but races karts in cadet class) and I would love to join in this event. I also know that bobblehat has expressed an interest too.

If you can let us have some proposed dates, I can let you know if we have a spare weekend that fits in with curent racing program.

Will be turning my attention to this soon.  I think most of the forum are aware that I am being treated for cancer and at the moment recovering from the most recent bout of treatment.

All going well and my strength is going up each day.

this track is new and may be more central.

The layout looks good and has a flyover!

More ringers!!!!!!  Wink Grin

Having met Tom and Michael, I guess they would need to share one Kart, at the same time, to come anywhere near the weight of the average CA'er!  Wink

Hardly ringers, JP...... well, maybe!

Having said that, I once did a four hour endurance karting event in Birmingham. I, of course, did involve a couple of friends (as you do), but they just happened to be two British Kart Champions. Just a coincidence, you understand.

However, when we all arrived the organisers dealt out playing cards to everyone and seperated them all according to black or red cards into two groups. They continued to do this until they ended up with twelve groups of four competitors and these made up the "teams" for the night.

Not only did you get to meet three new "mates" for the evening, but the result was after four hours, there was only one lap seperated first and last teams!

It was a great way of levelling out the competition, and made everyone think more carefully about driver and refuelling strategies.

Worth a thought?

I'll just like to add, that I think everyone involved with Club-Arnage wishes Spider a full, and very speedy recovery. Get well soon.

If this event takes place and there is space, can I be included?
I may even be able drag some of my team out of retirement!

I'm sure a couple of our group would be interested in this.

Last time we did a karting event, I managed to rip a wheel clean off my kart. *

* In no way should that be taken as an indicator that I am rubbish at karting. Smiley

I'm going to de-sticky this for the time being - as for a lot of reasons it won't happen this side of LM, so it'll clear some space on page 1 for our busiest time of the year...

Will re-sticky once it's under serious consideration again. The thread will drop down the list but not disappear.
