Was there on Saturday and Sunday and had a fantastic time. Courtesy of a friend in the village where I live, who is a big cheese at Goodwood, I conspired to find myself wandering around the collecting area and then escorted onto the front row of the grid for the last race on sunday! I was amongst Lister Jags, the Aston DBR1, Birdcage Mazza's and various D Types ( inc Johnny Herbert please note JPC!), all blipping their throttles. In fact, all our favourite late 1950's Le Mans machinery was there. With the race underway, I was then taken up to the roof of the pits to watch from the winner's podium, right by race control and amongst the trophies and jeroboams champers. The best bit was standing by the DBR1 and waving to Paul Zarse, who was standing the opposite side of the track and quite verdant green with envy! A priviledge indeed, and to say that I was on Cloud 9 would be an understatement. It was nearly as good as getting into the pit lane at the LM Classic, only being spoiled by the fact that I was, for once, actually allowed to be there! God, I'm a lucky f**cker!

Yes, a few poor grainy ones on my phone, but I don't know how to use the Multimedia function thingy to put them on the web. I'll show them to you when I next see you Bob.

Simes, you have unwittingly taken a picture of my mate. In the second last one (of the enclosure) he's the first bloke on the right of the two people with their back to us in the middle. The area above the pits on the left with the white picket fencing is where I watched from.
Great shot of the C and D Jags asleep in their cage too.

we had a great day on sunday, drove down, 100 miles, in my 1929 Dodge DA, we were parked in the members park and picnic area on levant bank, you can see some pictures at www.prazzi.com/revival , you can spot me at the bottom of page 8 of sundays pictures, trying to lift my wife's skirt for the camera, you can just see one of the dodge's wooden wheels, Pat

Some great atmospheric pic's matchlesspat, couldn’t make it this year, only the second we have missed, It has to be the best motorsport event ever, anywhere, real man and machine arse out racing and what a fantastic job Lord March and his staff do. The most emotive was Barry Sheene's last race in 2003, a true hero, never to be forgotten and I am sure he wasn’t. One of my best memories was standing behind the picket fencing of the race paddock with Nick Masons 250 GTO in front, a 330 to the left and a 275 to the right, warming up, the sound was just heaven! Barry Williams in the Jag, Minis battling with Galaxy's, sixties F1..... but so relaxed and friendly, saw Ken Tyrell walking around with his wife in 2002, along with the rest of the punters, clearly just having a good time. Does anybody know if the highlights will be shown on TV soon?

Yep its on telly sunday afternoon, Murry Walker is back behind the mike as well. Missed the main event this year for the first time, I was well pissed, but slightly made up for by going to one of the test days the week before. One of the highlights of the day was meeting Nick Mason, and his wife who turned up in her GT40 http://rupert8766.fotopic.net/p19889134.htmlbefore testing his GTO and their daughter Holly being taught the track in her AC Ace. http://rupert8766.fotopic.net/c682190.htmlhttp://rupert8766.fotopic.net/c682190_25.html
