....very good at the driving as well but still won't drive the Ferrari!
What? Is this a case of isn't allowed, or is she mad?

No most certainly not she's on the insurance, but its all too fast, noisy etc and a LHD. Team JPC will tell you I’m quite happy for people to come out for a spin and drive the beastie and actually understand why they make an excellent sports car its nothing like any other car I’ve driven.

So she's mad then. Each to their own I guess. Having driven two of the beasts before I would love to have another go in one. Just so much fun!

Back to topic - its a man thing, god alone knows why (but you can ask her). My wife won't drive anything big or fast - taking more care doesn't seem to be an option. So she bought a 1300 Suzuki, not a Huyabusa but a WagonR. About the same money strangely.

Going to have to disagree with you on this. It's not a 'man thing', it's just 'a thing.' Some people like big and/or fast, some don't. It's not gender specific.

In think doris has the right answer. I remeber one of my team at work just loved large Ford Grenada's strange really but then again she was Welsh and they always seem to have a bit of a chip so probably felt they had something prove over on us English.

I'm involved in a lot of amateur motorsport, and out of about 200 drivers I've met/competed against, only 3 are female. 2 have now retired, and the other does one event a year. Why? I don't think its lack of oportunity.

Maybe it has something to do with stereotyping and sexist attitudes.

My better half drives a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am (big and red) with a 5.7 litre V8 as her daily commute. It's LHD, 6 speed manual and goes like stink - and that's the way she likes to drive it. Other than a couple of oddities, ever since I've known her, she's driven big V8 engined American cars.

The supermarket boils down to a blokey thing like the stuff on the right hand side which consists of gennys, cheaper car bits, camping stuff, barbies etc and also the stuff on the left hand side, ie:- the drink. The girls usually like the stuff in between like clothes and shampoo stuff, food etc. I think the same applies to all supermarkets english or foreign.
