I'm in the market for one of these so any thoughts. Need to be able to film footy on a full size pitch, horse jumping of course and the odd motor race. All weathers and need to be able to retrieve stills as well. Grin Grin Grin

Any advice appreciated although I have been looking at a Sony DCR HC42ES but have not taken the plunge yet.

I understand super 8 now can have sound recorded with it, Eumic seem to be a good make as does Kodak.

Is this making sense? Huh

Steve, that one looks a bit of a light weight, i was thinking more of something on a stand.

If memory serves, don't the chaps that operate the movie camera have to wear leather leggings and have a german name beginning with Von Angry

Hi Lancs

We bought Mini Wishy a Sony DCR-DVD91E for his Christmas/Birthday present last December.

Recording quailty and stills are excellent........each disc can record 1/2 hour of  movies or a large  amount of stills.

The downside is the cost of the discs,at the moment.

The oppenhiemer may be slightly more robust for Le Mans usage.
