Last year I missed the 24hr in favour of the Classic, and was like a bear with a sore head all weekend.  Cry

So next year it'll have to be both Grin Grin

Hmmm Ok Thanks everyone for the info so far. Certainly the classic has whetted my appetite. Perhaps more specific questions.
1. Do I still drive there as fast as my chariot will go (or like this years 24, for as long as my chariot is in one piece!)
2.Will the ferry terminal be full of classic cars all also travelling as fast as they can and will I have lots of playmates on the way down to LM.
3.When I get there, do I still get to drink like a newt in Arnage village as the motors cruise past, soaking up the atmosphere ( is there an atmosphere?)
4. Is the racing actually balls out and worth watching?
5. Will I be surrounded by ' anaraks ' with vast knowledge of motor sport and motor cars ? (this might not be a problem as I am assurred by my wife that I am one of the anaraks and I do find that after 10 pints of stella artois I can talk knowledgeably about most things -  although I am advised the factual content is dramatically reduced.)

In answer to your questions:

1. Most certainly

2. Without a doubt

3. Definately, although you will need to be wearing a pair of plus 4s and a flat cap.

4. Yes, most of the drivers definately 'have a go'.

5. Mostly they'll be speaking french so I would worry too much.

as a taster, here's a bit of low res video I shot at the classic last year.

Hmmm - so it looks like the plan for 2006 might be:

PQ, hols in france, 24 hrs, hols in france, Classic, return home!!!   Could drag it out for over a month if the ACO co-operate!

 Grin
Hmm, interesting. I would be driving up and down though. Maybe I can get a discount with the Peage-people Grin

Excellent, there's no replacement for displacement.
