GRRR!! How did that car stop there in the first place? It looks suspiciously like one of those bloody incompetent, useless WR's had screwed up again.  Of course, the WRs have much more right to be at LM than the Zytec that wasn't invited to race and yet did so well at Spa. The ACO are partly to blame for this rubbish being on the track in the first place. |

The WRs seem to get a carte blanche (double) entry every time without really trying. They run well off the pace (see qualifying times), spend plenty of time in the pits and (maybe) finish.
Why?

WRs?? I could understand the WM Peugeots being allowed to run, because it was for the honour of France - the 2 hours life at full boost engine meant they could lead the race for the first half hour, and then try for 250 mph when the air cooled. They didn't really get in the way, and it was traditional to have a French loony somewhere.
The Brits loved it, especially when Roger Dorchy, leading the race, turned left at the end of the Mulsanne straight, instead of right.

A bunch of useless amateurs with more money than talent and a string of failures behind them. They should have been told to clear off years ago. It is deeply annoying that a proper professional outfit like Zytec don't get the chance to run because of these plonkers. WR are a kind of local yokel team but they must have some pictures of the President of the ACO naked in bed shoving celery up the arse of a dolphin or something. I have seen better prepared machines at a kids motocross meeting. Do not confuse WR with the WM Peugeots, a legendary French team of yore, who were hell for leather merchants and who hold the record for top speed on the Mulsanne (about 251mph/400kph if I'm not mistaken). It will never be broken. Heros! |

It is hard to see why the WR's manage to earn double entrys each year when other more viable teams sit at home, but the same could be said for quite a few on the entry list, at least the WR's have the virtue of supporting the 24hrs thru some very lean years when the others sat at home.
The W in WR is the same as the W in WM. Mr Welter was, or may still be for all I know, the head of the design dept at Peugeot.
