Did you see the Aston on Top Gear tonight? The stig took it round the track and knocked ten seconds off the previous lap record. It looked and sounded awesome. They had the DBRS9 as well and it doesn't half give me the horn. If all the members chipped in £200 we could buy one and race it

Any one else now thinking that the stig is Darren Turner?
He took the car to Goodwood.....then on to top gear.....surely?

You think they change the stig depending on who is available?
It was Perry Mccarthy last year - then again there was the incident with the Jag on the aircraft carrier!

I have it on reasonably good authority that it is Turner!
The time in the Aston pretty much confirms it for me. I can't see Aston Martin Racing let anyone else take it round a track at full pelt either!!

True, plus there's the benefit of there being no drive through penalties for getting too close to the side of the track!!

The jag "incident" was the last journey for the v12 xjs that TG "tuned" can't remember exactly what, nitrous perhaps.
They had previously raced it against some more modern machinery, they then decided to race it against a Jaguar (?) on a HMS aircraft carrier. However "stig" didn't brake in time and the Jag didn't float.
Some might say another piece of envirmental vandalism from the BBC, but its probably now creating an artificial reef!

Makes perfect sense to me Mark. It does appear that the DBR9 is on a bit of a publicity circuit at the moment and Darren Turner has been seen driving the car. Definately not Damon Hill as hinted in an earlier edition of TG.

Although it is understandable, its a shame they did'nt run the DBRS as well - anything less would have been negative i guess. 10 seconds difference to the fastest production car just goes to show how awsome that car is (would be good to get an LM Vett along one day).

Let's not. Just in case. That's not the attitude Oh ye of little faith. Who is The Stig? Would he push a Vette so it beat the Aston? Not that I am casting doubt on his integrity and honesty of course.
