Anything else that is deamed to be essential?
I have seen a photo of a bloke sat in an inflatable swimming pool, parked next to, I asume his, Bentley Arnarge. Now any one got better?

Wotcher bobble, In our pomp, our group had the following: Beer Marquee Dormitory marquee Aircon units Frridges Working floodlights and plumbed in chandelier in the main marquee 600 pints of draught stella A lawn mower and a few other bits and bobs. A lot for a two man party, I know. I would call all of these items essential. Do not consider leaving without them. H

I understand that Poles are not alowd to dance between 4pm and 6pm, but if your Hungerian you should be OK but not on Sundays after 12pm. Lap dancers have a law unto them selfs, So I understand

Has anyone actually ever had their passport looked at properly at a ferry port. We normally drive up to Passport Control, show the correct number of passports for the correct number of occupants and get waved through.
In fact, this is a bit of a bug bear of mine as it could easily be someone driving out of the country with my two kids and no-one seems to check anything!!!! :climbing off soapbox now:

Yes, they seem more careful recently. And I went across for a blast round Belgium and Holland a few weekends ago, when you drive into the port at Dover you now follow a hugely convoluted route which includes passing through a customs-like shed. I thought I'd taken a wrong turn.
The bloke asked me where I was going, had I packed my own bags etc and on I went. But I think they are getting a bit tougher at the port.

When I used to do a bit work in France, quite often one of us would forget his passport. We used to smuggle them in in the back of the mini bus under some bubble wrap . Never ever got caught. Next lot out would bring the passport for the return.
