Do they sell flagpoles at the Supermarket?  Still pondering this one, need to revise last years design, whilst it worked it did suffer design flaws as well as being bulky to get in the car! |

Do they sell flagpoles at the Supermarket? Try 10 metres of salami sausages and squewers from the carrefour, compact enough to carry around until you need to erect it, and you can eat it afterwards Rusty |

As detailed above various attempts of poles have been used but a cunning plan in place this year. This involves cultivating the bamboo from mother in laws garden and attaching to the roof of the disco for the journey. Once on site with the clever use of ties and jubilee clips plus a bit of gaffer tape and Bob's your uncle.
It will also come in useful for thatching the gazeebo and building the shower screen.................

I like the sound of the Daiwa Spectron Roach pole - 16m long(!) and weighs only 1.3 kg.
Only problem - retail price £1999.00.............

6M telescopic fishing rod purchased 2nd hand from a fishing tackle shop the other day for a fiver!
Take the very last thin piece out to avoid too much bending and cable tie to the gazebo legs.
Alright, I know that 6m is an amateur effort but we do have four of them if that makes up for it?

Tres Hombres have 3 x 2metre stainless steel sections with threaded joints complete with cunning perpendicular boom section to support the flag.
Thing is, we ain't got a flag!
I could just hang last year's Bretheren t shirt on it I suppose.......

Just remember troops that the union flag should be flown the right way up ,see rcutler postings, his graphic shows the broad white stripe to the top which is correct Sorry to be a bore but if were proud lets be right..

Very correct posting I must agree and as you correctly put UNION FLAG. No one at Le Mans can fly a UNION JACK as is only a union jack when flown on a government building or military post.
If the flag is upside down it is an old distress signal used in the old sailing days.
Very amusing when watching England Hooligans waving it upside down with no idea what the are saying the rest of the world.
