La Marseillaise
French National Anthem

Let's go children of the fatherland,
The day of glory has arrived!
Against us tyranny's
Bloody flag is raised! (repeat)
In the countryside, do you hear
The roaring of these fierce soldiers?
They come right to our arms
To slit the throats of our sons, our friends!

Refrain

Grab your weapons, citizens!
Train your batallions!
Let us march! Let us march!
May impure blood
Water our fields!

 Lets her it now

Sounds a lot better in French (especially the chorus), as we are going to be in that country, wouldn't it be better to learn the french version, if any.

if any.

Whilst I whole heartedly applaud the french for their hospitality and food I have no need to learn their or any other nation's anthem. I fail to see how it would in any way improve my Le Mans experience.

I thought it only fair that we should have some of the British National Anthem on the Forum, in French, but I think Babelfish is struggling with this again.

ROFL  Grin Grin Grin

Being serious, I'd rather learn the British nathional athem pretty sharpish. Good chances in LMP1, (LMP2 is out of the question, see above... so, learn French) a straight win in GT1 and a clear German national athem when they call for the GT2 podium I bet.  Grin

I'd like to be as optimistic as you Hans Gerd, but I think the Champion Audis may have something to say about LMP1!!

LMP2 did make me chuckle last year when the only non French entrant won it (I think they were in fact the only LMP2 finishers)

GT1 will of course go to the mighty Astons  Smiley I think this will definatley be the race to watch. The Corvettes are going to be back with a vengeance and I think this could go right to the wire!

GT2, Only one German team in the field! Even though there's a good chance a Porsche may win it!  Wink

"Aux armes citoyens"

Think that is close but I have enough with "God saving Queens" and "On England's green and peasant..."

Nice of you to set us up for it though, jimmy.

Shall we slip into "Whales, whales, bloody great fish in the sea" and "Floooers of Scotland" too?

As you can see anthems arent my thang (and if you scan the Karaoke thread you will see that singing isn't either)

Pass the Stella someone!

Hmm, tempting. Very tempting indeed Smiley If I would take my son, I'd probably get away with it.
You see, I'd like to go to the Silverstone and Nurburgring LMES-races aswell.
And we were supposed to go on Summer holiday as a family aswell (nothing planned yet).

The awnser has to come later. But I would like to see the MC12's this year!
