I hope everyone has checked there passport has at least six months left on it or it could be an expensive dash to UKPA.

I sent mine 2 weeks ago so should be back soon or I myself will be off down the local UKPA office

From the UK passport service... www.ukpa.gov.uk

Quote
Although the United Kingdom is part of the European Union, you are still required to carry a full 10 year British passport with you every time you travel to a European destination. This includes day trips and travel by Eurostar. Many countries have now abandoned routine passport checks at their land borders but they still expect visitors to be able to produce a valid form of identification. In the case of UK travellers this is the British passport. Remember, your passport will be checked at immigration control on your return to the UK.

... no mention of needing to be valid for 6 months...

I only bring this up 'cos mine expires in October...  Cry

Does that mean I can re-enter the country legally after Le Mans this year. Rob 'The Postie' can you look out for a spare one?

Mine ran out in March too, frighted the knickers off me, but after using the fast track Post Office Business Partners method for the £6 the new one and the cancelled old one both came back to me five days later.

The old fellow in the PO had warned that ten to fourteen days was a possibility.

Big problem now is... Who the hell is that ugly old git in the photo? If that is me, I have really had it with the birds now!!!

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

mine was due to run out in october but thought better be on the safe side.

I know the french really don't give two shits as long as you are not an immigrant but it would be my luck that they were being picky when i arrive

Turns out mine actually runs out at the end of August! But I think I'll 'fast track' it when I've recovered in July.

Many thanks Chris for posting this. If I had not been curious enough to read I would have probably been turned away at Pompey

I don't think you need 6 months on your passport for Europe, think it is places like the USA etc that require the 6 months

Shouldn't matter to much, i went over on my uncle's passport one by accident. He's 15 years older and does't look anything like me. The trick is to drink heavily for several days and they can't tell who the hell you are as you look so bad!

Chris like us if we get to the ferry and they decline our passports then we send them off on the monday and should have them back so we can attend the race on saturday.

Forward planning Grin and another reason to go a week early.

I sent mine royal mail rip of delivery (special delivery) on tuesday 3rd may and my shiny new passport arrived yesterday morning saturday 7th may all for the standard bargin price of £48.

They must be quiet at the moment.
