The Eurostar gets you from London to Paris, and then the TGV, or just a normal train woudl get you from Paris to Le Mans.

I don't know about prices from the UK, but if that are anything like the ferries they will push the price up for the Le Mans weekend.

Just a thought, but if you really wish to visit the UK, I would suggest either coming to the UK and pre-booking a hire car (I am pretty sure that the major companies will arrange to swap right hand drive for left hand drive at the major ferry ports), then driving yourself down.

Or fly into Paris, make your way to Le Mans, but return to the UK for a visit and fly back out of the UK. Although I don't know how that would affect the prices for the tickets.

Depending on how many of you come over!!

Fly to London, Hire a car, visit the UK for a week, return the hire car, join us to Le Mans. Come back with us then we can take you back to the airport.

Don't know where you're coming from, but there should still be good deals from Newark to Brussels.

What the heck. It's only once a year. Follow your heart, and you'll get to LeMans eventually Grin

Hey Randy
Last year I took the TGV (fast, and I do mean fast train) from Paris to Le Mans and back.  I would suspect the econmy trip would be fly to Paris, look around for a few days, take the TGV to Le Mans.   Their web site is  http://www.raileurope.com/us/index.htm    Enjoy Le Mans then TGV back to Paris for flight home.
It would be more expensive to work England into the mix because you would add the Channel part of the trip by Eurostar or by ferry if you have a car.  If you could catch a ride to Le Mans from London, then fly to London instead of Paris, ride with someone to Le Mans and fly home from Paris or ride back to London to fly back home.  There are several options but most would raise the cost of the trip.  The bottom line is....the simplest way to do it is fly to Paris, take the TGV to Le Mans and then back to airport in Paris to fly home.  If you need to discuss more, let me know and I'll call you.

Hey Amazing,

Why not fly into Munich catch a little beergarden action and then travel with me to LM. I got a MB camping ticket (exclusive rights in the Golden Triangle) and also an extra tent. All you`ll need is the GA ticket. You can come back with me and fly home from Munich or hitch a ride back to visit London with one of the fellow CA troop and fly home from there. Don`t come much cheaper, consider it, it`s never too late to book

As many have already offered Randy, I'm sure we would be abvle to get you a CA shuttle to Le Mans from whichever country you decided to fly to. Perhaps worth considering flying into one country to see some sights and then returnig from another country. If you either of these included england then we could certainly get you there (and back) I have a spare tent, airbed and sleeping bag (no huge Winnebago I'm afraid) so your camping would be sorted too!!

Go on, book a flight! You know it makes sense!!!   Smiley Smiley Smiley

It's a good question Randy. There are more trans-atlantic flights to the UK than to other european countries. But to get that budget flight you probably wouldn't want to book until much nearer the time. I would say thatgetting to europe is the hard bit. Getting from/to UK from europe is the easy and cheap bit. Thank you budget airlines! If you do come, you would be mad not to take in the Goodwood featival of Speed. It takes place five days after the end of LM and it's a must for any petrolhead.

My best advice mate is to keave things wide open.

Its a shame there aren't cheap flights from the UK to LM.  I think Tours is the nearest airport.  This trip will all depend on the prices by the sound of it.   Last year, one of our team (under 25) bought a cheap train ticket from London to LM at about GBP130, and that was first class (better seats, free food and drink).  List price must be three times that.
Just keep trawling the internet for cheap tickets

When I looked two weeks ago Ryan Air were offering flights from Stansted to Tours for anything between £15 to £45 - at that time they had availability around "the" weekend.

Bargain!
