I can't speak for everyone but who ever the sorry bastard was who came up with the concept of karaoke should have been lined up and shot along time ago. I've never seen a faster way to clear out a bar. Sitting around with some mates having a few pints watching a game when in walks greasy cheese dick with his karaoke machine... Fax

I take it that you wont be singing then? Most karaoke events in bar's are usually advertised before they take place, so if you were in attendance when a gig was taking place you probably should have known better than to expect to watch the telly. In answer to your question it was the Japanese who invented Karaoke. Incidentally how did you know he had a cheesy dick?

Fax, I agree, karaoke's the work of the devil alright.
I've nothing against Satan per se, just happy to avoid him where possible.

Hi 24hourman, Since I won't be at the Sarthe this year...no I won't be participating. That said, even if I was there, as completely f**ked as I've ever been at no point have I ever felt obligated to annoy the sh*t out of everyone within ear shot with my warbling. Fax

Hi Fax A shame that you cant be at Le mans this year because if your voice is as bad as you make it out to be you would probably have been the star of the show. Thanks for your comments anyway.

In a previous life as a salty seadog in the 80's, myself and the third engineer happened to venture into a quiet bar in a small port in Japan. The place was chock full of beveraged businessmen singing sincere and heart felt love songs on a karaoke player. After a bit of mocking and gentle banter along the lines of "siry engrish, why you no sing" we were shamed into singing "Rerrow Rubmarine" - NEVER AGAIN.
