See here for a free motor sport day. OK, it's Renault, but it's Free and it's a Day Out! http://tinyurl.com/644xhA huge two-day motorsport festival offering free entry to enthusiasts, promises to be among this country’s best-attended race meetings when the all-new World Series by Renault comes to Leicestershire’s Donington Park circuit on Saturday and Sunday, 10th/11th September. It marks the eagerly-anticipated race debut of the awesome Mégane Trophy racer and spectators will also get chance to see Grand Prix stars-in-waiting racing in the brand new Formula 1-style FR 3.5 single-seater. I've applied for 4 tickets and got them. They are posted out in August so you wont forget it is on.
Being that the are free I would suggest we all apply, it could be a national CA meet!!!
Renault may even win every F1 race this year if they carry on at this rate. If they do Renault will be having a big show at Donnington!!

Well, it seems too good a chance to get to a real CA meeting so I have booked a foursome too. Awesome Megane huh? I have been overawed by some Meganes in the past... Electronics that are so cutting edge that they cut the edge off........ "Tales to tell I could, young Skywalker!" Bill

How long did it take for people to receive the email that you have to click on to confirm the request? I applied this morning and haven't had one yet!

That's the first time I've seen "awesome" and "Megane" in the same sentance - and probably the last Yes maybe for that butt ugly current model that they make. But if you ever saw the previous model Megane Coupe 2 litre Kit Car rally car, in 6th gear, sat on the rev limiter on the narrow tarmac roads on the Manx Rally, then AWESOME is the only word you would use to describe it.

My earlier comment still stands! - the secret is that word 'Megane', it just doesn't cut the moutarde. Monsieur Chenet, my acknowledgement came back instantly - it must be that dodgy e-mail address you're using

That said I chased one of the new Renaultsport Megane 225's some time ago up the M11 & along the new A120. It was blisteringly quick, dunno what it's like to drive but he was going some!! Thankfully he didn't get away from me in my ZR all the way up to 70mph... Just hope the cars at Donnington are as quick as the emails!!

Nigel, Maybe we could arrange a car share and both save money. The way fuel prices are increasing it could be £10 a gallon by September. Have you noticed that the Shell station at the crossroads has put his price up by 5 pence a litre since the Esso opposite has closed for refurbishment, bastard.

Which crossroads ? Mind you, I drive an oil burner in the week and then come the weekend, I could give a monkey what the fuel price is, I just want to ring the neck of the sweet sounding flat 6. Regarding the Renault day, I'll keep in touch with you. I've asked for 4 tickets, so will probably have a car full, or 2 car fulls, depending on what car I take.
