Thanks for the offers of help guys. What I've got is a WMV file which I wasnt to turn into a VCD or SVCD.  I have a copy of Adobe Premier 6.5 but its a bit ropey on  my machine (whilst it runs 512 mb of RAM, Im sure it has SOMETHING draining the resources on it - just cant tell what it is) Also adobe doesnt seem to allow you to produce the DVD makeup on to a CD - by make up I mean menus etc and the ability to play on a standard DVD player.

If anyone has anything which might work please let me know as I really dont fancy having to buy a DVD writer when I know the file in its current format is about 500mb.....

Cheers
Brad

Another good weekend outing this year if you get the chance is the Britcar. I was up at Silverstone on Saturday and the racing was thoroughly enjoyable. A bit disappointed that a few of the rumoured entries didn't show, but still good fun racing.

I was up there too, with a freind who is sponsering the MG in the production class (S1 I think its called) they won there class, pity there was not a better crowd - I did meet a certain Dumbreck who has a Le Mans pedigree Wink

Tho I have to say I would of loved to have seen the Jet car at the Pod. Thinking about it if they could of done a return run that would that not of been a Brit Land Speed record  - mind you I think the Shed might of got in the way!

The rules of the Land Speed Record are a bit different.  Instead of a terminal speed, the record is the average speed of a car through a measured mile (or kilometre).

Hence, a car runs up from 1 or more miles before the measure mile and trys to maintain a high average speed through the measured distance.
Additionally, the record speed is the average of two runs in opposite directions and both runs must be completed within one hour.

The current British land speed record is 300.3 mph set by Colin Fallows in the Vampire jet car in 2000 on the Elvington runway.

Thrust SSC does not qualify for the British land speed record as the 763 mph World land speed record was not set within the UK.

Hi Steve,
I would point out that Speed Records have so many variables that one must read the fine print.
Wheel driven vehicles are one category, Jets another.
All have to be witnessed by approved judges.

Phil, true.  Thrust SSC holds both the absolute World Land Speed Record and the Unlimited Jets category record.

The Wheel Driven World Land Speed Record is currently held by the late Don Vesco at 458 mph at Bonneville.

Records are observed and timed by approved officials (generally the USAC in the USA) and are ratified by the FIA (or the FIM for motorcycle records).

For all you 2 wheeled fans, the current FIM / AMA motorcycle record is 322 mph - set by a dual-engined, nitro-burning Harley that was claimed to be producing around 450 horsepower.

Otherwise known as "bugger that for a game of soldiers"

However, we digress......could anyone think of a package which will do the previously mentioned tasks??

If so, can anyone sort a copy for me??

I've just had another look through the footage, and for an amateur cine user, and an amateur cine transferrer (i transferred it when I was about 15) its all come out quite nicely really......

Now all I need to do is transfer it to a format which a DVD player can read and we're laughing!

Those were the days Cool
Brad has just transfered a video of old Super 8 cine films, shot at Blackbush, Silverstone, Snetterton, and the Pod,  on the his PC ready to burn a DVD - if it comes out OK we could start a distribution roundy roundy for anybody who's intersted?

Great to know that there is someone apart from me that remembers drag racing at Blackbush.

Never got to Blackbush, my first meeting was bay in 1977, Easter at The Pod. When Ray Beadle brought the Blue Max over.
Was it '77 or '78 that Pete Crane upset Big Daddy Garlits by beating him?
