For those of us who like a fast run down to LM, you might want to check out the following web site

www.securiteroutiere.gouv.fr/infos-ref/regles/csa/csa-liste.html

If you click on the map area you are intrested in it gives you a list.
Then click on the phrase starting 'Cliquez ici pour acceder'
and you get a nice little map, how kind.

Cheers,

Off to Normandy this weekend to visit my parents.......6 cameras in total in the whole of Basse Normandie, that's 3 less than my 14miles commute into London.

The cameras are also the size of a small shed!

Ones likely to most effect the pilgrimage in June

2 on the Caen ringroad both between the LM turn off and the turnoff for the port  Angry
1 south of Cherbourg on the N13, and then another on the same road just before Caen.
1 between Le Mans and Lavel, and 2 between Lavel and Rennes, both on the N157

One of those in Caen is on the pont de calixe nr. Mondevile .
It's in a built up area and everyone slows down

Another site that can be useful: http://www.radarsfixes.com, so long as you have a basic understanding of the lingo.

You can input the department (region) and the road number and it will detail all fixed cameras, the speed limit, type of camera system and even which direction.

Hope this is also useful.

i thourght that camera devices were illegal in france

at the entrance to the tunnel we were told to remove ours as it would get confiscated if we were spotted with it, yet there's an ad on the web site for them

I think it's the radar detectors that are outlawed, my understanding is you don't even have to have it on, it's illegal to own one over there.  I don't risk it with mine, I leave it safely at home!!

I guess the GPS ones are ok though??

That may be the way things will go in the UK as well this time next year if the government get their way  Roll Eyes  So I'll have a worthless and illegal detector in my car  Cry

There was a short piece on 5th Gear on Channel 5 about it.
