I've just had my reminder through about ACO membership renewal.

There is a piece in it that states:

NEW IN 2005
A camping pitch will be set aside for prolonged stays until Sunday 12th June 2005. Information to be had on site.

So it looks like there will be a site available from the PQ/Test weekend until Sunday 12th. 10 Euros per night! It doesn't state which site it is though! Hope it's not MB or it could end up being full before we get there!

I've got a very bad feeling about this....mind you whilst I'd love a 2 week camping hol in Le Mans, only the very keen would take advantage of this surely? How can we find out? MB would be an obvious choice..which one to they use for the classic event or does that have no bearing on this?

Correct me if im wrong, (my wife does) but wasnt the PQ date brought forward to within 2 weeks of the race proper to suit the American teams?  So it may stand to reason that a permanent site may be set up for the 2 odd weeks. Just a thought.

Well, if there's only two showers on MB, but you have to share them with about 20 die-hards I wouldn't call it bad facilities.

I've been to worse places, like rock festivals with only a few toilets and no showers at all. The reason why 'real' bikers are always smelly Undecided

So you'll have to go two weeks early, set up your encampment and leave it!  Hoping its not over run by the gipsies in the meantime!

Hmm anyone want to pay someone to be a security guard in Le Mans for 2 weeks in June? Cheesy

They have used MB for the Classic event in the past, Mr Toad, and it would seem logical for them to use MB between PQ and the main event, no rent to local farmers for use of their fields.

Do not think they will use MB for PQ, last year when we attended PQ they were using it for racing, it was well used for the whole week end.
Here's hoping anyway.

The ACO say

"Dear Sir,

Maison BLanceh will not be open. It will be another site near the Porsche curve.

Kind Regards,"

So that'll be BSJ won't it?
