Hi,

Just got back from watching the Malcolm Wilson Stages, up at Grizedale Forest in the Lakes. I decided to go up and test out the new digital camera ahead of next weeks trip to Sebring. Pretty happy with the results. Whilst up there at the top of the hill, a helicopter landed near us and several people climbed out to come and watch the stage. It was none other than Colin McRae !

Thats Colin with his kid behind the blue Astra .

Only ten minutes earlier, we had said that we thought Colin McRae might have had a do at the rally for fun and to keep up his skill levels, after all he does have a MK2 Escort and a Metro 6R4 he could play with, and the £450 entry fee wouldn't be an issue in his case !

But I guess he likes playing with his chopper more !

Ok whilst we're on bumping into LM racing drivers recently...

I was wandering round Norwich on my mobile in late Jan & Ralph Firman walked past me to pay for his car park ticket, as he walked past to the car park I said hi & had quick chat, his parents live up the road & he was visiting them (his old man does/used to own Van Diemen)

I asked him what he had planned for this year & he was quite hesitant to say anything, but he "had a deal on the table" apparently, shame he didn't get a result last year with Justin Wilson & Tom Coronel  Cry

as u may have gathered,im a huge fan of johhny herbert and jamie davies,i was told on another chat room rnd about last december that johhny holds a charity karting event every yr at kings cross in london.as it happens i was visiting family in london that same day and me and my cousin went over to there and found the indoor kart track which was on a rough trading esate and waited outside hoping to catch a glimpse of our heroes.we got chatting to the security on the door and they told us other drivers such as,mcnish, guy smith, firman, button were also going to be present, well as a 15 yr old lad u can guess i was fellin pretty excited by now,we were told 2 look out 4 an audi r6 red with blacked out windows wich davies wud b turning up in, and they said johhny may arrive in the same but grey, unfortunatley both were wrong, johhny was allready there and i managed to meet him and get his signature on my 88 t shirt just inside the building,i couldnt believe my luck,we waited for another hour but no sign of any drivers,we then had to go as we said we wudnt be long to my dad, as we left and waited for the tube, there was a delay and we were there for an extra hour, then we got talking to this lad who had just come from there and watched all the drivers turn up,i was gutted,at 1st i thought he was lying but he swore he wasnt, as it happens jamie davies turned up in an awsome red evo with blacked out windows so he says and ralph fiman was also in an evo, maybe nxt yr i will try again but still i meet johnny thats the main thing.it did seem funny though all these top drivers turning up on a trading estate to ride in some fun karts.

Well my recommendation Donny is to hang about after the race this year & head for the pits, we always meet a few drivers there & it's a lot more friendly than the GP's ever seem to be.
