Just had the renewal form for my ACO membership and they have added a new category to there list, this is the all new club 24 collector edition.

It includes a glossy book (a la moto/autocourse), a dvd and cd plus all the usual gubbins that came with the old club 24 membership, all wrapped up in a fancy presentation box.

My only fear is that it will arrive in the usual squashed state having been sat on by a large french posties butt and then run over by our faithful old Royal Mail.

Oh well, here goes nothing.

Yes so did i, Joined the the ACO last year having moved to France, Was rather disapointed not to get the bookings that i ordered 9 months in advance. It would seem to me that a priority booking for a new member would be a nice touch for the first year to give neewbies a chance of the benefits of the club. For me not a problem as ive  been going since 1978, but really dont see after last year any benefit of joining the club.

Know what you mean there old bean, membership returns no priority in that way but the discounts on the tickets alone make it worth while for us as we recoup it straight away ordering so many, plus obviously the benefits of the ACO stand.
Can't say the same for the hospitality, but at least it is a half decent refuge if it chucks it down.

I joined the ACO last year too, didn't buy tickets through them for last years race as I was on a Continental Car Tours package, but I hoped it would be easier for this years camping passes. No way, but I did go inside the big "aircooled" pavilion club place for race info and such. Nice fluorescent wristband too...
I will stay in ACO, as Rusty says,  I will be buying tickets at the door for a decent saving. But the "getting in the queue early" bit is so obviously un-French that I have given up on it. Les Francais don't do queueing very well at all do they?

Yes but I don't buy the DVD anyway, so i save even more. Not to mention 192 Euros is a lot of money to spash out in one go, when you aren't going to see the book, dvd and cd until later in the year. Thats before you've bought tickets and camping etc.

That does include your basic membership of €92 in the first place, so all told it's not such a bad deal. And you do get a squashed box to boot, all delivered to your door. Sounds more attractive by the minit.

I splashed out 1,790 euros before Christmas and won't see anything for that money until April / May.

And then all it's bought me is a few bits of paper and cardboard with 'Aire Accueil', 'Enceinte General' and 'Tribune' printed on  Roll Eyes
