If you've not yet booked your ferry then this website is doing P&O Dover Calais for £60 return, Its not on all sailings, but the ones I looked at did in fact come out at £60, So its not the usual marketing "prices from" deal that you can never seem to be able to get! Almost forgot the url.... The link is http://www.aferry.to/service/AFRYspecialoffersPOPF.htmor just www.aferry.to and follow the link from the home page....

Wow. That's come out £140 cheaper on P&O than I was quoted by....P&O.
Maybe I'll cancel Norfolkline (about the same price) and do this one instead. Thanks

And www.speedferries.com (Dover - Boulogne) just got even better. When we checked the price about a week ago it was £70 return. Finally got round to booking tonight, £38 return, result!

Cracking Price, but past experiences with cats with hoverspeed means that I won't use them as they pack the cars on far tooooo close together, so unless you have a car you don't care about be carefull as there is always a danger of it getting damaged.....
Personally, I'm booked on EuroTunnel, althought they may be dearer the cost differential is reduced by less driving than Dover-Calais, and with the Aston only doing 13 to the gallon it soon adds up!

We were on the Newhaven Cat last year and although they packed them in tight it was no tighter than any other ferry I've been on and they seemed to know what they were doing. They even strapped down any cars they thought needed it.
How much further on is Dover from the Chunnel terminal? I don't remember it being that much further.

Dover is about 15-20 miles further down the M20 and the Frech side is about 5 miles or so closer to LM

Not if you end up in Boulogne!

The £30 each way or £60 return crossing applies when travelling on the Pride of Canterbury. Not sure why. Is it older with less facilities? Not really bothered which ship I travel on.

Making me laugh when I have brochitis is not fair. Now having had a desperate search for the paperwork I know I am on th Pride of Canterbury, so looks like I'll need some water wings. Anyone know whwere I can get waterwings for the car?

Waterwings for the car? how about asking the Royal Navy if they have any of the waterwings left that they fitted to their Westland Wasps. Simple bolt on just above the doors and automatic operation. And as usual I can't post any pictures..... I hate being so useless with compooters! bill
