I  think its about 4 meters high - some guys park a small bus there and the top is the right height for a good track view.

The problem with the MB campsite is the the trackside front portion is limited to a very thin strip except where you suggested going (the bank is in front of you) or where Beermountain goes higher up. Higher up the problem is that they don't put up the safety fence until around Wed/Thu, so you could have to remove the tower altogether...sorry not to sound more positive, but I get the impression you have a big set up so should know.

If you used to camp opposite us in KN campsite - did you not have a 2/3 level tower with a bar at the bottom? - if this was you it would be a good height to go where you are planning!

Hope that helps. If you take our spot can I come and watch from your tower?!

Thanks an awfull lot for your help Mr. Toad.
I've been a bit stupid all along, only just tonight discovering photo's on your website showing exactly what you just described. photo

Like I said before, I hope not to take anybody's place, but if I would (by accident) take your place, then you're definitely more than welcome to come and have a cold Heineken from our draftmachine!

Lots more work to do now, we're gonna have to double the size of our scaffolding (in height that is). Cheers mate ! Wink

Aha. I remember that green inflatable sofa in the foreground, don't you gab?

We sat on it for the start of the race - the bloody thing slowly deflated, and getting my bulky frame out of it and back down the scaffold was a distinctly scary experience - but well worth it.  Smiley

I remember Smokie, I also remember how hot that plastic couch got after about one hour in the sun and also how hard it was to get out of it after 50% deflation and a couple of cold ones.

Smokie - I thought I was sitting on it with Mr Disco at the start of the race? - maybe you were thinking of qualifying? What nice people Mark & Tracey are!

Mr Toad>> biggest problem is ofcourse how to get a swimming pool up a scaffolding, and keep it up there Grin

as for location, it remains a bit of a puzzle for us MB-newbies, how 'bout this one??>>

Paddy - yes, that's a large circle around the Beermountain motorhome I think...!  Cry

I've never seen a rasied "infinity view" paddling pool at Le Mans - how exciting...we are trying to buy a fire engine at present so might be able to help you fill it...

Were you guys drinking again? It's a good story and one should never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Last time Smokie told it it was the start of the race in 2003.

You are not confused, Smokie was still there at the end of the race in 2003.
