Welcome onbord Donny, sorry about the "long hair'd" bit, but you are not from, Liverpool, are you? I rember wanting to get to Le Mans when i was 14 - it took me another 15 years to make the pilgrimage, I hope you get to go as often as you can. As for my top drivers that is a case of were to start, Birkin, Novolari, (no im not that old to rember them) Moss, Clark, Hill, Hunt, Lauda, Prost, Senna, Bettley..................................err the list goes on. A word of warning about Fax, he has the biggest rose tinted specs here

Hi Donny. I'll take the blame for starting the Osmands thing, just my sense of humour, sorry. My son was only 14 first time I took him to LM in1998. He wasn't a fan of any particular driver but he was crazy about Mclaren F1's and wanted to be there the last year they ran. He fell in love with the place and has been back every year since. It's guys like you and him that will keep the annual British invasion of La Sarthe alive long after us old farts have gone to that great poo bar in the sky. Keep the faith. Bob.

When I said I thought you were JD, it was meant as a compliment!
Oh, and us old timers very much need you young guns to keep the legend going. Though I do, with the greatest respect, predict your interest in the racing will eventually wane a little once you get a taste for John Barleycorn and acting the goat.
You'll know when you're a LM veteran when you see LMP900's in the historic support race in years to come. Happened to me this year when I watched Group C with a tear in my cynical old eye.
Final word of advice Donny. Never let women get in the way of you and LM. If, when you have a girlfriend, you should spell it out right at the start: The second weekend in June is booked between now and Kingdom come. You wont go far wrong.

thanks guys, for a moment there i thought you were all a bit clicky and didnt really want anybody elses comments on ur site,as a matter of interest, who is your favourite driver, obviously u no who mine is , just wanted to no what ur thoughts are
The only thing 'clicky' about most CA'er's I suspect will be their joints. Along with the others already posted here welcome to the mad world that is Club Arnage. You may initially have an interest in just motor racing, and hopefully Endurance racing in particular, but stay around this site for a while and no doubt you will develop all sorts of other 'special' interests

i am only 14 and i found your website by meeting a member of you at lemans so come on guys, give me a break, im just keen.
No quarter given or taken here, Donny, you sniveling little toe-rag. Just because you're only 14, do not, for one minute think you deserve any special treatment. Shape-up. Nothing wrong with being keen - or championing the cause of your favorite driver - even if he is gay - and a self-serving cheat. Since you asked, my favorite current sportscar driver is Michael Rockenfeller - a mere GT pilot, but he'll be big, you mark my words, sonny! Now, get back to your bloody homework.....

I like the rather portly Mr Brundle as a commentator. He's back driving next year isn't he? I'll reserve my judgement on his driving...

I can't really pretend I'm a fan of any of these guys in particular. Most of my heros are either six feet under or long since retired. Just don't have the hero worship of racing drivers that I did when younger. Perhaps Hurley Haywood since he's one of the last of the "Old School" that are still active drivers. Always had a soft spot too for Brian Redman, especially after he did the Speed Merchants "monster face" for a couple of us at the Mid-Ohio historics a few years ago. John

Whats with the joints comment. Not me. I am of this generation. Old Gits.
Favourite driver for me at the moment would be McNish, i think he is a little special. Especially after hearing him on the Veloqx DVD.

Too right Robbo!! some of us still don't know what it's like to have a hangover....yet Apparently Allan McNish is gonna be in the DTM next year!! He's signed up to race an '05 spec A4 alongside Dindo & Kristensen. Hope it doesn't mean a no show at Le Mans, I don't believe it clashes with the DTM usually?? Justin Wilson has just signed up for another year in Champ Cars, no news about Ralph Firman yet. Colin McRae still doesn't have a drive in the WRC so we may see more of him. So who else do ya'll feel would be a good addition to the driver roster this upcoming year??
