When you consider the majority of F1 style motor racing circuits, the rotation seems to be clockwise.
Which circuits are run anti-clockwise?

Sao Paulo is the only anti clockwise F! circuit. However, there are more... Laguna Seca, Mallory Park. Brands Hatch was anti clockwise. And there are a few Australian circuits which are running into the "wrong" direction. Since they are on the other side of the world that is ok. I can't think of any German anti clockwise circuit.

Am I right to assume that if most northern hemisphere circuits run clockwise and southern hemisphere anti-clockwise, then equitorial countries only have drag-racing

Rockingham is the only anti clockwise track in UK and I belive that Lastring (how do spell that?) is also the only anti clockwise in Germany. Are not all the ovales in the USA anti clockwise too ?

US ovals go anti- clockwise hence the instruction to the driver: "Go like Hell Turn Left" Road course at Daytona goes anti clockwise too. At Indy F1 goes Clockwise on the road course. Most other US road courses clockwise. same is true for Canadian tracks. Canada Phil

Further to this. Which tracks have, for want of a better phrase, swung both ways.
Indy is one, and I think Brooklands did.
Any others?

So, to return to the question regarding F1 style motor racing circuits -
We've had one answer - Sao Paulo (Interlagos), but there is also another one I know of...............................

Few beers ahead of you Bobblehat, odd things surface to the top of the skull when you have had a few. I vaguely remember that Brands also ran anti when it was a grass track circuit in the early days, but that must have been pre WW2?

Brands Hatch was anti clockwise.....
How long ago was that? It's been clockwise since I first started going there for the old BOAC 500 40 years ago! DB Only time I saw Brands do summat anti-clockwise was when I used to marshal there in the 80s. Had one of those jet powered truck thingies that was doing some kind of demo thang and blasted away from the line and then shut off and coasted round the whole short (still can't bring myself to call it Indy) circuit anti-clockwise. Very impressive!! Even more so coz I used to marshal at post 3 (top/outside of Paddock Hill bend) and the heat generated from the start line a long way away (and in a dip) was like a blast furnace! Oh those were the days ... now where did I put those glasses? You know the rose-tinted ones.
