I am currently trying to arrange / plan a trip on my motorbike to Cyprus ( i hava friend who owns a bar there )

The travel to Athens in Grrece is relatively easy !!, but my problem is getting from Athens to Limmsol, with my bike.

I have searched the net and the only firm to run a service went out of business in 2002, or so i believe .

Do any of you know or work in a company thats can help.

Dont really fancy parking my bike in Athens for a week fully kitted up !!

Robbo

A friend of mine used to deliver coaches to Cyprus a few years ago.

From memory they used to get a ferry from somwhere in italy.....I will try and find out from where....... if I can track him down

It's a long way Robbo...

Last year I looked into some Ferry travel in those parts, I think the ferries to Cyprus leave from Piraeus. Take some sandwiches and a thermos. Under no circumstances consider riding to Turkey to 'shorten the journey'.

Try http://www.ferries.gr/salamis/ or just have a cruise around the homepage.

Cheers H, but Salamis seem to have gone bust. There site hasnt ben updated since 2002. I did a search, tried to book etc, but ended no-where, hence my request for advise.

I know its a long way, but it will be an experience.

i work in cyprus for the Mod

in fact i'm off there in december/jan

you don't know anyone in the forces, as the best way is to put it on a herc and fly it.

If you want i'll contact civvy staff for the MoD and ask them how they would do it
