Following the terrible news from the US regarding the Hendricks team.
Here are a few more drivers, teams & families that have perished in plane crashes. Sad reading.

Wasnt the DC crash around the time of the Frankie Detorri crash? Rumours of betting syndicates involved?

Wasnt the DC crash around the time of the Frankie Detorri crash? Rumours of betting syndicates involved? I'm sure DC has never had anything to do with the championship or be high enough up in the pecking order to even get on the radar screen of betting syndicates, unless they were looking at the number of retirements he has in one season

Luis Fontes - Lagonda boy and Le Mans winner, Air Transport Auxiliary pilot in wartime... Wellington on delivery, Pembrey, Wales
Johnny Wakefield - Maserati boy, FAA or RAF pilot in wartime

Ok not a driver but motorsport related all the same.
Paul Morgan, (Ilmor Engines) who died when he crashed his Hawker Sea Fury. If you ever saw the pictures then he was damn unlucky as it flipped over on landing with very little damage apart from crushing the canopy where he was sat !
