Was it last year that some poor sods paid a premium price on another site and received some rather poor photocopies of the tickets? My recollection is that they had been sold in "good faith" and the guy gave them their money back.
Edited to remove direct references to other sites

I think you guys have been talking about me. Yes, I am auctioning my spare Tertre Rouge ticket. And no, I am not going to apologise. I paid over £730 before Christmas for camping tickets and General Entry passes and have paid (or lost - depends how you look at it) interest since. Now that some of my colleagues have finally decided that they are not going to come to Le Mans after all I have spare tickets. I have sold the four General Entry tickets at a loss, and I auctioned the Tertre Rouge tickets hoping to recover that loss and the interest. As it happens I have discovered, to my surprise, that people are prepared to pay more for the ticket than I expected. If they are happy to pay, I am happy, so where is the problem? I invested my money a long time ago. Get a life. Oh, and the guy who withdrew his bid that you all speculated about despite the fact that you had no information, was let down by colleagues too, so decided not to go.

Joe...
CA and its members are not seeking an apology, and probably aren't that interested in the credentials of your tickets, how you sell them, or even how much loss you might make on them.
All we ask is that you don't do it here.
Site policy I'm afraid - not personal.

Nice to see that people on this forum are concerned with over pricing, it is like watching out for one another. Roll on 8/6/03.

Despite the theme of this thread, one of its contributors has sent me an e-mail asking "£90 each in the ball park?" for my MB passes.
So, if I say yes (and don't tell me it's NOT tempting!!), presumably I'll be accused of profiteering.
I sense a trap!!!!!!

I spot a flaw in this £730 arguement. I would hope that the person didn't pay £730 for a camping ticket and 4 general admission tickets in the first place! So presumably that covers tickets that he already has or ferry tickets or something else.
My understanding was that this site has no objection to charging face value plus reasonable expenses, but does not want profiteering.
It seems to me that all fans should welcome the policy of this site as if everyone followed the same policy in the long run we all benefit, as prices remain reasonable.
The more tickets that end up in the hands of agents or touts the worse it is.

Not if we didn't find out...oh, you just told us!! Simon, you know and, I hope, understand the stance of CA and its members towards profiteering on this siteWhat you do outside of CA is your business and it isn't for this website or its members to cast judgement on transactions carried on elsewhere. Neither will we allow it to become a place for a flame war over anything - after all, it isn't what people come here to read. If you complete a transaction, as has been said elsewhere, it was by common consent so the buyer cannot really have much to argue about. The bottom line is that we do NOT want CA to be seen to be promoting profiteering.

.....so the agents and touts come to Club Arnage, knowing they can pick up tickets for a tad more than face value and then flog 'em on Ebay.....
....I spot a flaw....

Nothing in this world is perfect...
I'm sure that if systematic abuse of the forum became obvious, the site management would have no hesitation in closing off Sell or Swap, which would be to no-one's benefit.
I really have better things to do for a few hours than discuss a clear policy. Be back later...

A suggestion... ....if you sell tickets at face value or just over on CA, how about a forum policy of displaying the username of the successful CA member at the end of your thread. This way, it will become obvious if the same person (the tout / agent / whatever) is buying up tickets to sell elsewhere. Unless the same person has several usernames?... err... I'll get my coat...
