Just use the ring road and try to avoid driving in the city centre.

If you believe you now know enough the city centre to drive into, forget it !!! Almost every usual way to go to the Jacobins, of the place de la republique, or even the station (north entrance at least) is complicated.
Hopefully the Carrefour access may be not too much affected
