I'll be there... revisiting the scene of former triumphs.... The older I get the better I was etc etc...

Where will you be ?  Nobby, Switch and possibly Arnie (all Le Mans boys) will all be there Friday...

Sorry Mr D,

Refers to my mate Nobby Stillez... the legend that inspired this years tour top strapline...

However, HRR is open to all... you can pay for entrance to the General Enclosure or you can walk up the bank to the start where there are all manner of alchoholic and high cholestrerol diversions...  A Le mans veteran would feel right at home;D

oh and there's some rowing on to...

DW I'll be in the stewards enclosure, got a freebie from a rep. Its the  1st time I've been ,don't  know the lay out.  Dress code etc calls for no mobiles etc, can you suggest a time/place to meet up.
Looking forward to  it

Am also in the Stewards... Our normal haunt is The Fawley Bar... and I'll be there from about 11.00am...

I'll drop you a PM with details and we'll get together for a beer... I'll also give you a bit of a steer as regards dress code etc as its possible to get tripped up and underdress... particularly if you've got ladies with you...

Regards

It's the Barn Bar for me, with all the commoners and guttersnipes.

Nothing wrong with the Barn, probably more people actually watch the rowing there than in Stewards Smiley

Best enclosure for watching and drinking is IMHO is  Remenham, but you have to be a member of one of the 8 clubs who run it or a guest of a member.

Can't say I disagree...

I hear that his year Remenham are running a family day on Sunday... several of my friends who have kids who have Staines/Twickenham/Kingston etc connections are going there on Sun

I can also recomend Leander as well... dreadful for watching racing I grant...  Grin  but the crack on  friday and Saturday night can be brilliant...

Big advantage of Remenham was that you could take your own picnic and eat it on the lawn, also that the bar prices were very resonable for Henley. This was a few years ago though, usually head down the Barn these days, although even that has got a bit 'corperate'. In the old days you could just walk in, it was just a bar in some cow sheds by the towpath set up by an enterprising farmer.

Brian. due to the dress codes, unfortunatley Bart will not be permited entry, alas neither will autographed CA shirts and shorts. bart is being well cared for in his new home.
