I've been thinking of going to the LMES round at Silverstone, and camping there.

Let's keep this thread going and see who else is interested.

I'm up for it - need to wash the dust out of the tent first though

I will be at the the LEMS at Sillystone, well it is only 6 miles up the road from me, it would be rude not to. So any CA'ers up for a beer or three in Buckingham on Friday or Sat night?

Now theres a silly question................ Cheesy

On the camping front Silverstone dont run camping but there is camping avalible. The Silverstone hand book only has Whittlebury Golf & Country Park in it. But you can usualy camp across from the main gates. If any one whants to know I will enquire.

Hi Truffette
Yes, we are the East Anglian cobras.

He's a picture of our modest encampment in Houx Annexe.

I hope your saw us around and about the circuit.

Just had a chat with Silverstone Racing Club regarding LMES, and in typcal BRDC fashion the SRC have no information yet, so no info on prices or wether the race will be run on the Sat or the Sun. But as soon as I hear anything I will post it up. As for camping at the momment it is only at Whittlebury - you have contact them direct 01327 858 092.

Whittelbury is a large golf course and country hotel (I doubt you will be on the course!) Its is outside the track, in line with maggots and the hanger straight. Its run by the BRDC or who ever it is that runs Silverstone these days. It should be big enough as it is used for the BGP. As for the race dat it could well be Sat as when the ALMS came to Silverstone they ran on the Sat. (cracking finish that was too). As I said I will post more info as I get it.

I hope to see you there

Sorry just re read my last post, it should of said that its(the camping at Whittelbury) NOT run by the BRDC........

Its also were a lot of the F1 teams stay and I would think quite a few of the ELMS teams would be too. Not camping you understand.......

I have more info on ELMS at Silverstone.

Silverstone Racing Club have been told that the race will be on the Sat (British F3 and GT Sun) starting a 2pm finishing at 8pm.

I might get back to Buckingham for a quick pint or two

I'm definitely hoping to be there  Grin

As for ferries, I can recommend Transmanche - I paid 60 Euros per car for Le Mans, and got as good as anything I've had with the big name ferry comapnies. They run from Dieppe to Newhaven - apart from the lunchtime crossing, their schedule is at fairly anti-social hours, but apart from that they were great. There was a Lambo Gallardo that had some trouble getting on and off, but everything else (including Porsches and bike-engined Seven-alikes) were fine.
