We should stop the doom and gloom I have brought up each day and the day with the highest chance of rain is SUNDAY but even Sunday has only got a 50% chance of rain.
Thursday the day with the Thunderstorms still only has a 40% chance of Rain.

Also a bit of rain on most sites can be a blessing otherwise the campsite is just a dusty mess.

If I had a quid for every time Meteo France forecast thunderstorms over LM during the 11 years I have attended then I'd have 11 quid. If memory serves me right we've only ever actually had 2 thunderstorms.

One on the Saturday night in 2001 and one a couple of years earlier on the Monday following the race as we were travelling home.

Not a particularly good strike rate (if you'll pardon the pun) as far as the forecast is concerned.

I'm sure all will be ok. Mind you as I am in an hotel I'm not too worried about my tent geting washed away  Wink

just spoke to my sister in law, who is track side with Veloqx; she said the weather forecast that the teams are working to is for "low chance of thunderstorm late Wednesday/early hours Thursday".
Current situation is, to quote her words "way into the 30's, hotter than last year".

Thong and flip flops for me then.

I remember the one in 2001. Certainly the mud on Sunday morning. The worst storm for me though was in 98 on the Saturday afternoon / early evening. We ended up with 6 inches of water in the tent. The bogs (hole in the ground) started to back lush. The tents below the bogs soon moved when the nice brown floaters started inching there way down the hill.

They say it comes every 3 years ............. but who cares, its Le Man weekend.

Role on tomorrow night........................................

Yes, I agree. we always work on the assumption of 2 dry years followed by a wet year. However, as this will be my first year driving down in a car as opposed to biking, I think the pattern has already been broken.

Here's hoping.

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

Are there any more accurate weather info available. I still don't know what to pack. Will I need the big plastic bin bag or not.

Same as last year............ as we get closer, the forcasts start to moderate.  Weather.com is now showing slightly reduced temperatures - 25's, with far less risk of rain or thunderstorm.
