Just the most awesome support race you could ever wish for!!

Two years ago we had a taster, but this year (it's a bi-annual thing .. and I'm not talking about The Adult Channel here!!), it's the turn of the 1959 to 1971 era.

Organisers have already confirmed to me that we have at least one 917, one 512S and one GT40, together with Sir Stirling in the 1959 winning Aston.

Now if that doesn't stir feelings somewhere about your person, then .. well, hmmm, how can I put it?

Got more info that I will be posting at Maison Blanche in the next week as build up ramps up.

So not tooooo much wine, women and song on Friday night - gotta be up early and to the track to catch these beauties (10:15 - to 11:15). Either that or sod the shower, wear the WS and leg it - don't miss it!!!

Believe race last's 1 hr, with a old style running start and at least 1 change of driver in the pit lane.
To make your dreams come true, you have to stay awake.
More Low Flyer's anyone.

From the press release:

TWO-DRIVER RACE BRINGS STARS TO LE MANS

For the first time, this year's Le Mans Legend - the Historic race run on the Saturday morning of the main 24Hrs event - will be a two-driver, one-hour event. The new, two-driver format opens the way for entrants to share their cars with the Le Mans pastmasters, in a race which will see all the excitment of pit-stops and driver changes plus some famous names from recent Le Mans history.

The Le Mans legend is exclusively for actual cars which ran at Le Mans and genuine sister cars of the same specification.

In fact, after a little searching, here's a picture of me driving that very car.  This was at the Bondurant School of High Performance driving's 35th anniversary  party.

Chris, without checking my Classic sheets, was Bob's car the severely "shortened" one? I know there were several there, and I'm too lazy to get my sheets out!

OK, thought better of being a lazy sheister and sifted through the papers .. it was wasn't it? Do you know who was driving at the time? The result sheets say Migault/Greder as drivers, but the team composition sheets says Bondurant/Greder. And it definitely was not Migault.

Basically, reason I ask is that I saw the accident. I was shooting at Arnage late morning (I think) when it happened. All very sad to see such a glorious car damaged. Got several photos if Bob can bear to see them.
