Can anyone confirm that all camping sites at Le Mans circuit (apart from Houx) are to be classified as lay-bys and therefore will not have showers?

There are showers adjacent to Maison Blanche and Blue.
In that blockhouse next to the entrance if memory serves...

I think all the laybys have showers and toilets. The bivouac areas at the car parks won't I don't think.

Rain fell mainly on Karting Nord 2001! most of the site was underwater sunday morning.

Onto the more serious subject of personal hygene showers. whats wrong with stripping down to your trollies and using the standpipe like the rest of us had to last year in Beausejour. If you must have hot water why not invest in one of those natty little solar shower bags that heats up during the day. You can get them from places like towsure dot com (no commercial interest) they are not expensive which should save your temper when some pondlife steals it/uses it while you are away from camp.

ladies who wish to shower in a little more privacy may pop over to the blokes camp where we attempt to protect your modesty with our large towels while you wash and we absolutely promise not to peek..

I know that many people simply hang up a Solar Shower in a gazeebo with sides. This can also have the addition of a diveder then another shower creating you own shower block.

This is an idea I will probalbly have in 2005 as the Motorhome will have to go up for sale as it will be 10 years old and will depreciate too much to hang onto. I will be truly upset when it goes it was my first car and I had wanted this model since I was 10. It is vertually unique in that there are only 3 insured in the world. With a name like Carrera 4 I will probably be advertising it on the Sell and swap nearer the time. Cry

Rick, why flog it?
Once it's ten years old, all the mega depreciation will have soaked up it's value.

Ask yourself, what would you have instead, you'd only be into buying something else for loads of money that may not fit your requirements.  I mean, look at the Commer  Wink

Even though it is 9 years old this year it is worth £32,000 ( yes the Commer (no joke) is in the right place) I will sell it late this year so as to be 9 years old. The Van has only done 600 miles in the last year and I cannot justify the running costs. It has less than 50,000 miles on the clock and is a diesel so will go on for ever. In 99% of cases a motorhomes value drops by 5-10,000 when it topples 50000miles.

I might replace the van with a 355 or something similar before I get married and am told you cant have that!! I was offered a 355 last year as a straight swap but backed down as I still wanted to keep the van.

Anyway you will see it on Fri. Don't forget you PASSPORT!
