The engine should be a beast.Dyno results show 422 BHP and over 400lbs/ft torque from 2500rpm up to 6000rpm

Looks pretty neat PM. I'm afraid I'm not up to much when it comes to US motors - what's it breathing through, is that an injection set up on top? Is 6000 the red-line or the limit? Keeping the lead out of your boot while you run it in could be tricky, you'll be "The Fastest Man in Wales (With a Moustache)" and no mistake once it's spinning.

Ive changed to a six speed manual too so according to this article,i should only lose about 15%.
That would give me a stoill very lovable 358 bhp at the wheels.
I'll get it on the rolling road though once its running well.

But testing rear-wheel horsepower (rwhp -- obviously, front drivers would be measuring fwhp) makes it difficult to convert from what the dyno says to what the manufacturer says. The manufacturer, remember, measures horsepower at the flywheel. All that equipment between the engine and the wheels -- the transmission, driveshaft, differential, and axles -- introduce friction and inertial losses summarized as "powertrain loss" or "parasitic losses". The efficiency of the driveline can greatly affect the amount of the powertrain loss: Ford's AOD transmission, for example, is notoriously inefficient. As a very general rule, rear-wheel horsepower on a manual-transmission car is about 15% less than SAE net, and rear-wheel horsepower on an automatic-transmission car is about 20% less than SAE net.

Sounds a corker PM, let us know how you get on.

There's two sounds guaranteed to bring a smile and raise not only the hairs on the back of your neck. One happens when you're walking towards a race circuit at the beginning of the day and you hear the first crack-crack of a racing motor fire up. The second happens when after many hours of labour getting a re-built engine back into the car it starts up for the first time and sits in there chuntering away. Best of luck!
