Hi ho, Hi ho, it's off to Gatwick I go....

Leaving in 30 mins - v poorly organised this year due to work commitments...but looking forward to it (and meeting old pals) immensely.

At Daytona till Wednesday (oceanside room) poss meeting Canada Phil who is camping nearby. Will probably visit the Speedway, and if I haven't drunk all my money, I might even do the 3 laps with a Pro thing...(err...3 laps with a pro driver, that is...)

Then off to the track for the action - and what a lot of action there is...see http://www.sebringraceway.com/schedule.html. Pidge is still only 50/50 to get there due to an impending op, but Les and other familiar faces will be there (including Chris24)

I promise some pics when I get back

Please behave yourselves while I am away!!! I know I won't!! Wink

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

Checked the weather forecast this morning for Sebring.  Mostly sunny with temps in the low eighties through next weekend.  Oh yeah...
We're gonna need plenty of sunblock.

Forecast is good for race day (low 80's) - it's low 70's o/cast here in Central FL this morning. There's going to be some rain mid-week, so it could get a bit soggy at the circuit between now and Saturday.
Wet qualifying might put an interesting spin on things (no pun intended).

Wotcher Matt,
Found a few bits on Sebring here:

http://www.lmsr.net

It loads up looking like a dogs breakfast, but has some good pics.

Is there any coverage of Sebring in the UK (Sky etc..) for those of us who aren't lucky enough to be there???

Neat link H, thanks for that. The circuit is only an hour and a half from my office - and these pics are tempting me to "go and visit some clients" - trouble is Fax has our Supertickets and he doesn't arrive here until Friday.
On the subject of UK TV coverage, I'd be surprised if you get much - but here's an offer if anyone is interested. I have a 'bi-lingual' VCR and will record the excellent Speed Channel coverage on PAL.
I'm happy to mail it to one of you and maybe you could pass it around to those who are interested. 2nd best, I know, but better than nowt, possibly.

Great idea Matt! If I recall correctly, someone on here recently saidf they can copy from VCR to DVD too!! So if we get the Video to them they could perhaps mail out the DVD's??  Smiley

Yes, I've now got the VCR to DVD software sorted now and the big PC is churning out Le Ronde Infernal discs as I type this.

Matt, so if you would be happy to record to Pal VCR and can get the tape to me, I can do the conversion.

All I need now is a cheap source for DVD-R blank discs.

Matt,
I can overnight the passes down there if you want to head to the circut this week.  We've also got a vehicle permit as usual.  Let me know.  Nice link H.  Haven't seen that one before.  Looks like someone's already made a mess of their Porsche.
