I know this has been asked before, but I've trawled all early posts and can't find it.

Now that I've finally got my scanner working again (after abput 3 years), where can I host an image for a profile picture.  I vaguely remember that there are some freeby ways of doing this - I don't have my own web site.

Cheers

You could try muchos, free membership, relatively small file size but you don't want a major file size.

This can sound a bit complicated but why don't you take asvantage of your free web space you get with your internet provider. I run all the help stuff, my pic's and my sons rugby teams web site from mine. I just upload files with Smart FTP which is free. Once you've done it a few times, it becomes a piece of piss and you won't lose you avatar (profile picture). You can also be a bit flash and buy your domain name for £4 for 2 years from www.oneandone.co.uk and just point your new name to your web space. (just don't ask them for a DNS change cos it takes them about 3 months)

Ta very much Skorpio - as you can see, it works OK.  Easy to use as well once you know what size the picture should be.

Thanks also to Stu for your suggestion - may take that up in the future.
