Folks

I used to be a regular but finances have dictated that we've not been for a few years however we're thinking of doing a splash and dash this year, kipping in the car on Sat. night.  I've a few questions that you may be able to help with.

Are toilets stills as bad?  We used to get ACO stand tickets partly for the loos.

Do ACO tickets still go as quickly as they used too? Any likelyhood of them still being available.

Can you still park at Arnage and Mulsanne with parking passes from the main area.

Anything else that has changed over the last four years or so?

Cheers

Jeremy,

I'm sure that many others will also reply. There is also much on this site that will give you the answers you seek but to save you hunting:

1. Toilet facilities seem to have improved over the years. Loos in ACO stand still the best on site. Pikeys on the doors the same wherever you go though.

2. ACO tickets for the more popular campsites basically gone before the conclusion of the previous year's race. Beausejour is the only site I am aware of that is still available from the ACO as of now. Same with the ACO grandstand (unless you go via a ticketing agency and pay through the nose). Other grandstand seats were still available from the ACO as of 2 weeks ago.

Yes you can still park at Mulsanne/Arnage with your general tickets. Whether you will want to brave the horrendous traffic though is a different matter.

Other changes: You will see a lot less trees around the Esses area, along with a new grandstand. The run down to the esses has been remodelled - some approve, some don't. Oh, and the funfair is now at the top of the village, and all of the more 'interesting' attractions now gone.

I'm sure there are other changes I've forgotten so will leave it to others to fill you in.

It won't be the same without the opportunity to queue through the night to see dodgy ladies remove their clothes.

PC hits Le Mans, a shame.  Thanks for the info.

I think we are going to do it really light this year, just general admission and reserved parking with a cheap hotel the night before and after and sleeping in the Sprite on the night of the race.

If Raoul manifests himself 'in the flesh' (if that's not too inviting)  I shall be quite suprised.  Roll Eyes

I'm afraid the Raoul references have gone so high over my head they have left earth orbit.

However, no I'm a pretty average 5'11 and a fag end.  Last time we went we slept in the Sprite and I can't say it was the best nights sleep I ever had but hey, Le Mans sleep is utility sleep, you don't want to lay-in anyway.  I'm struggling with the year we last went but it was very very wet and I had to gaffer tape up my hood to the sidescreen on the passenger side to stop the rain coming in.

About 10 years ago (the year that the TWR Porsche that turned out ot be one of the winning Jags rebodied won) we took my Fiat Dino and slept in it.  I woke up with a basket weave effect face,
