Hi group
We have allways been in Garage Bleu, but i would like to know what other options there are, so maybe we could try something new this year. We are arriving Thursday, i think it will be around 13-14:00. We would like something similar to "Bleu", where there is no need for bookings, and we just pay on arrival, find a spot to park the car, and set up the tent next to it. We must be able to get the car in and out from there, during the race.
Is the "Expo" parking an option? other options?

Take a look at 'Circuit Map' in the Maps, Helpful Hints etc. thread at the top of the Help section of the discussion board. Beausejour is shown there, just to the right of the Porsche Curves.

Thank you all very much It looks like a good location for us, since we would like to get some new impressions this year. We have not been to the Porsche curves for 7-8 years now.. And this parking / camping area is likely to have plenty free places, when we arrive Thursday?

Beausejour will be fine on Thursday - still a load of space but the better slots normally gone by then.

I have no experience of just turning up. The times I have visited the site though it's been fairly busy - must be all those who have been denied other campsites by the ACO and taken the offering of Beausejour or nothing.
Would suggest booking to avoid disappointment.

Huh? What the......? Can this be so? Surely not - otherwise this forum wouldn't be awash with postings about applications, years in advance, for parking/camping that is either ignored by the ACO completely - or transfered to some dismal field, miles from anywhere. Where is this fabled Parking Bleu, where you just show-up and party hearty?

I have never tried booking in advance. I dont know why there is so much debate on bookings of campsites, maybe there are some camp-sites that are considered to be far better than others, and so they get booked early. I dont know if it is possible to make a booking for Garage Bleu? It is located on the opposite side of the road from Maison Blanche, just a little bit further towards the main entrance. Here is a map that shows it clearly: http://www.swr2002.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/avatars/plan.jpgThe last 3 years we have arrived Friday in the morning, and at that time the Garage Bleu have only been about half full. We buy the GA tickets at the mainentrance, and the parking/camping ticket from the people controlling the entrancepoints to Garage Bleu. As i understand it (from the posts in this thread), the Beausejour park/camp is much the same, so i think we will park/camp there this year, just to try something different. Mvh. Finn

I was looking at the pricelist for tickets, and from what i can tell we have been using the Bivouac area in Blue, for the past years. The people that make bookings for Maison Blanche, Beauséjour, Expo etc.. are getting something different. They are in a "Lay-by" area, where they get a 6 x 8 meter allocated space and access to water and toilets. Makes a little more sense now

Only 1 site has allocated space, and that is Houx. But there are some facilities on the laybys which aren't on the camping

We just turned up last year and bought tickets at around 20:00 on Friday night. Straight into Beausejour - we were in the 2nd field that wasn't at all full.
