First time in 2004

Double luck: I'll be on vacation with my family in Paris during the 2004 race - I plan on breaking away and getting to the race - and I have secured tickets, but have made no other arrangements. Can anyone give me some information on the best easiest way to travel to the site (train?), when to plan to arrive and when to plan to depart back to Paris? I was thinking of training it there on June 12th, but have not booked anything yet. Any suggestions for a first timer? I found this site on fodors.com.
Thanks!

Hi Ohfourrace, If you can only get away from the family for a short time TGV Train from Paris
Montparnasse Gare to Le Mans takes 55 minutes.
Leave early Saturday morning as you will be travelling with lots of others doing the same thing. Book return for Sunday evening after 6 pm. Shuttle bus to the track takes about 20 minutes to main entrance.

It sounds like you and I will be doing about the same thing regarding transportation to and from Paris. I don't know exactly where I will be staying, it's up to EF Tours that doing the booking for school travel trips for high school aged kids. My daughter is the teacher/sponsor for the trip and I am going as a male chaperone. They leave Saturday for the US and I am staying for Le Mans. Closer to mid May or so, maybe I can get information and we can sinc up for the train trip.
