In the mid Seventies there was a very neat little mini running at Santa Pod and Blackbush drag strips called 'Stripteaser'.
Based on a Mini traveller, it had a 4.2 litre Jag lump in it,positioned where the front seats should be, the driver sat to the right above the rear wheel.
It went like stink, and always got a good cheer. Last I heard they had managed to squeeze a 5.3 V12 in Cool, but a never saw that running.

No.  I'm just a mad drag racing fan.  I have a whole load of Santa Pod photos from the 70's / 80's / 90's that I'm (very) slowly scanning to my PC.

Steve - have you anything in your archive on a Jnr Comp Alt '32 Ford Model B, with a 4.5 Daimler SP called "All Shook Up"? It's from the era you've coverered and ran a lot at the Pod.
My brother in law Ricardo bought this car in mid 80's and I drove it for him for a couple of seasons. Sadly we lunched the SP450 but put in an ex Dave Grady 460ci big block Ford, and re-christened it "Red Roar". It would be great to see some shots of it, if you have any.

I am still trying to talk my mate ( 50/50 project ) into a 2 l 16v Turbo , P series rover engine . But he reckons No.

May have to stick with the little engine, especially if sponsorship requests keep coming in . Morgan . MG etc etc

Steve
Thanks for digging out the photos of Stripteaser, the older steel bodied one is the one that I remember, even that used to embarrass lot flasher machinery.
Photo circa 1971?
Fond memories as a 14 year old sitting at Blackbush supping beer watching these cars running the 1/4.

Very impressive Matt.  What's it like to drive one of those things down a strip?
