Hi everyone. It’s been a while. Hope you are all well.
So, what’s new? I’m finally making a return this year, camping on BN.
Heard various rumours over the years about restrictions on entry to the circuit etc such as not being allowed to take your own beer in with you. Is that just glass bottles or does it include cans as well. What about soft drinks? Can you take them in? What happens with people camping inside the circuit, ie Houx or MB.
Looking forward to catching up with some of the finest people I know!  Smiley
Cheers

Welcome back Mark,
Oh how i've missed your emoji  Grin
Look forward to catching up on BN. I'm not sure about the alcohol situation. Glass bottles are a definite no no. Cans also quite possibly. I don't think there is a problem with plastic. I was behind an old French couple last year who categorically refused to give up their bottle of wine. However a believe a crusty old French woman can get away with a lot more than us fresh faced Brits!

Welcome back,

I had my bag checked on the Thursday from Houx into the circuit & Lord Steve & I had to neck a few cans before they would let me through. Had bag checked on entry to MB only once & not very well as they missed my beer. It would appear to be quite random on when they check & what they allow in.

Naturally they cannot lay a finger on the thinking drinker. We either throw a coolbag over the wall or simply take in “fortified” water.  Cool

Year before last glass bottles  (stubbies) were a no, I guess wine bottles to, so no cheap Champaign cork fights at the Poo bar. remember the irate Frenchman who’s car got pelted with a shower of them,  he stopped and got the biggest Axe out of his boot, everyone just laughed at him (about 200 of us), he soon saw the funny side of the situation.😂😂😂

Bloody hell, long time no see.

Andy and I bring Adnams mini kegs in to Houx or we drink dubious Dutch lager.
Will be good to see you back trackside - come visit us on Houx with the DfH Massive.

For refreshment trackside, we just suck up and pay for the 1664 weasel piss in the ACO tribune.

Blimey Mark!
Thats quite a break you've taken there!
I think the last time I saw you was in the west car park at Twickenham.

Hi Mark

Blimey I thought we'd been blacklisted sir, good to see you

The burning question

I found an email on Pistonheads about this, the guy contacted the ACO to get clarification

They stated (and I have taken a copy of their email off the thread) that bottles are not permitted but that cans are permitted 'up to 1 litre per person' the guy who posted it prudently wrote back to ask the ACO poster to repeat the email in French, just in case the gate guardians were not polylingual

This is the version I have copied, I intend copying a few of these for the guys in our party to use at the gate

might be an idea for others
