Lots of stuff on inerweb about F1 and LMP1 shareing engines for 2021.I had hoped JeanTodt would have kept away from all that F1 stuff.We all know what happened last time.

I know - I groaned when I read what the todtmeister was saying...

...hopefully WEC have got their ducks in a row with the new format formula (but 2021 is far enough away for meddling to take place)  Cool

What strikes me is this quote:

So far there's Toyota (2 cars), BR/SMP Racing (2 cars), Dragonspeed (BR/Dallara), Manor (Ginetta), ByKolles and the "yet-to-be-named" Ginetta customer which bought 3 cars.
More entries are expected, so we could well be into double figures next season.  Are these all manufacturers ?  No, but teams with a lot of experience behind them.  Manufacturers can step in already in the super season with their own engine if they want. Apparently the French haven't learned their lesson after what happened this summer with Porsche pulling the plug & Peugeot waiving bye bye.  What else would you expect with a stupid set of rules implementing the first km of Le Mans on electrical power and finishing the same way. 

Sharing engines between F1 en WEC is the story of Group C all over again ... does Todt really want to be a second Balestre ?  Just like the rumours going round again like GT-based of Hypercar based prototypes ... rubbish !!

IIRC Todt was running the show at Peugeot when the switch to 3.5 liter F1 based engines was made.  He of all people should remember what a epic fail that was.

.....We all know what happened last time.
And the time before that, and (I'm told) the time before that.

This will never be a feeder for F1, as an engine designed for WEC won't be powerful enough for F1, and having different (F1) size engines will not bring Porsche back, and Mercedes won't sell their motors, they'll concentrate on the job in hand.

Will these people never learn
