Afternoon chaps, Le Mans 24 has been the mainstay of my year since 2006. Not missed one since then and I have no intention of missing another as long as I a able to.

I own and run www.sportsmaserati.com and we take a party of 50 down each years in a mix or cars, mainly Italian. Most are modified and very loud.

Now, since the start of going we congregate in Bar Harlequin in Arnage High Street, any many may have seen our trail of cars blasting through.

Really enjoy Arnage but after 10 years or so, its getting very samey.

We are not campers but like to get involved, so my question to you all is that I want to shake it up a bit for 2017, so can anyone recommend another watering hole on the outskirts of the track were we can go and watch the celebrations?

Looking forward to it already.

Well, still not found anything, might just have to move to the other end of Arnage High Street.

Anyone recommend any of the other bars, other than Harlequin and the one opposite it on the roundabout?

It is really starting to lack descent watering holes.

Not really suitable for you going mob handed perhaps but my wife and I simply cruise through the neighbourhood and stop somewhere we like the look of. This approach generally works, most places will have a contingent of like minded people to help you feel at home and a modicum of interesting metal passing by though, to be honest, we try to avoid anywhere bursting at the seams, which can prove difficult.

Maybe try leaving the cars behind and take in a few of the bars and restaurants in Le Mans itself? There's always something going on and its a great atmosphere.

That has been considered in the past but its just chaotic to get into Le Mans city and back again during the race but maybe we just have to do it.

Well its been a while but we did find a new place in Le Lude called The Rose and Crown.

Its an English pub that is run by an english couple and they do Guiness too

Ok, its probably a bit far our or most but we stay just outside Le Lude so perfect for us. Granted, now many cars going by, suppose we will just have to bring beer in the sunshine and make our own brumming noises!

I have a house just outside le Lude and spotted a fair few Maserati's at the super market friday with a Ferrari as I went for some bread. I did want to go try the pub but I have had very good reports from the locals about it
