Hi!

Have there been any more announcements around Garage 56? I know that it was intended to be quadruple amputee Frédéric Sausset, but I haven't heard anything more.

Maybe they should invite Nissan back for G56!

I'm sure that it was as whacky as almost anything we've seen so far.

Sausset will race at LM, in a Morgan LMP2.

Hi Werner,
Me too. I hope that program is still alive and being developed.

Was chatting with the team at Silverstone at the weekend, and I was able to observe one of Freds driver changes.

He may not be the fastest of drivers, but he is dedicated. A great way of getting him in/out - a scaffold pole with strops looped so he can be lifted in/out under the armpits. He steers via a modified prosthetic right arm, it has (what looks like) a gas pipe connector grafted on, and he literally plugs into a steering rod. Amazing

Huge respect - I'll be with some of the H4H Dakar team this weekend and I think he may come up as a topic of conversion.

BTW:  I loved the audio commentary which said they had a specialist lifting rig to help him into the car...

...as the video feed showed the scaffolding pole with lifting strops.

Fred has my vote at Le Mans.
