Why can't somebody invent a flat ramp - it can't be rocket science.  They had a big piece of coconut matting on the lower deck, but with the rear overhang of the caravan its still tight |

Kev, I managed to get my cobra on the Newhaven Dieppe ferry this year and clearance under that is pretty non existent. We were on the upper deck as well. It's all about your technique  i managed with Dfds at a random angle but I'll just use p&o lol |

Still no fares available as of 14/12/15
As has been pointed out to me by another member of our team this morning there's a footie match between England and Wales in Lens on June 16th.
This is likely to increase tunnel/ferry traffic and therefore it might not take the various operators to increase their prices.
Might just get on and book the tunnel, which is still priced at £158 return.

News item from the local wrag Thursday
THE future of the popular Newhaven to Dieppe Ferry Service has been secured for a further two years.
In August the French authorities stepped in and promised to subsidise the service until March next year and they have now gone a step further to guarantee it keeps running until the end of 2017.
The extension represents a huge boost to Newhaven, securing jobs at the port.
The route is owned by the French regional council in Dieppe and managed by Syndicat Mixte de Promotion de l'Activité Transmanche (SMPAT), a public organisation.
They signed the agreement for DFDS to keep running the service in France yesterday.
Peder Gellert Pedersen, executive vice president of the shipping division at DFDS says: "I personally want to congratulate our crews, staff and management in France with this agreement and thank them for their patience over a long period of time."
Carsten Jensen, senior vice president and head of DFDS in the UK, added: “We are extremely pleased as this is good news for customers in the UK, as well as our French and UK staff who work hard to market and operate this excellent and important trade and tourism link between France and the UK.”
DFDS Seaways has operated the Newhaven-Dieppe route since the end of 2012.
Since May the Côte D’Albatre has been joined by the the Seven Sisters ship. There are four daily sailings during the low season and up to six daily sailings between the two ports during the busy summer period.
Under the terms of the agreement, DFDS will continue to be responsible for the marketing and operation of the service and will make the investments necessary for the ships to renew their certificates.

You can get a bit further this morning with the bookings page coming up with the dates but its still not completed and not working properly. I'm hoping its a work in progress and you'll be able to book any day now. Fingers crossed  |

Hi Stu, saw that myself and got all excited,rang DFDS the guy was very helpful and said the prices would go up on the 15th Jan. Myself I'm going to keep looking in case it's any earlier, he also mentioned that there would again be a discount for old gits like me, the only advantage of getting old I guess!!

Why are the ferries asleep? I have to book flights to France a year in advance before the prices go silly. But then nobody's perfect - they don't fly to Le Mans, do they

Believe they do, but at a price! Landing fees are horrendous LM week I believe. |
