There was a thread where folks were posting some of their LM2003 pics - here are two of mine I quite like....

I love this one of the Bentley - almost everyone is watching it

Nice view from the ACO grandstand

Well, it's a bit parky, and I've a scrotum like a roasted Waterloo Bridge chestnut, so it seems a good time to share this one...

Hi H,
I like the pic of the Bentley working its way to its grid position.
Its passing the Racers Group Porsche sitting there and I get a chuckle every time I see their Porker.  They should win some kind of award for the number of sponsors they have slapped on that car.  Probably carries more decals on it than half the cars in the GT ranks put together. Kevin Buckler and his boys do drive the wheels off it though.

Nice stuff DR!!

If you look to the right of the Bentley pic you can just see Peter Baron having a laugh with the T.W.A.T.S. chappies, or the early stages of what turned into a bout of t-shirt tennis. I was standing right in front of them and the Orbit boys (of which PB was one of the drivers for those of you at the back of the class not paying attention) were flinging t-shirts into the crowd for freebies .. well the "president" (and sometime CA poster) of the aforementioned fine bunch took it upon himself to send the t-shirt back trackside and the t-shirt tennis began. Those of you who witnessed it will understnad - it was superb. For the full story go to http://www.the-twats.com - marvellous!!!

I was stook to the right hand side of them , and it was a scream, completely makes the atmosphere.

Do you ever re member in 2001 the bloke with the Bag pipes who stood most of the 24 hours near the Bentley Pit and everytime she came past , he would pipe up with a tune.

Fantastic

After several exchanges, the Orbit driver manages to evade the boys and the shirt is forever lost in the crowd .. not to be outdone, the President returns the favour with his own shirt which Peter BAron proudly (?) puts on!

Then, the T W A T S send in a roll of their infamous "I've been twated" stickers which Peter Baron pops onto his rear wing ....

Cheers hgb!

And still on the subject of projectiles, can't remember which year it was but early to mid 90s I think, remember being quite in the pre-race mood (had too many beers standing on the terraces) and standing close to some chappies who were fervently supporting anything British and along came Tiffany Dell and he was playing along to his supporters and was complaining it was a tad hot on the grid, so one of the chaps nearby took it upon himself to lob a full and unopened can of (yuk) Fosters at Mr. Needell which he very wisely sidestepped and it hit the ground bursting everywhere. We quickly distanced ourselves from the aforementioned chaps for fear of being ejected for loutish behaviour!

That's disgracefull, Rickmeister... not only because they jeopardised the health of Tiff Needell but aforemost because they wasted one can of liquid gold. Shocked Those guys deserved to get shot on the spot.
