Weather update from Djet, our exclusive Club Arnage weather god.... The weather outlook now looks fairly ominous, but having said that, the type of convective rain that dominates large parts of Europe right now is very unpredictable, even if our latest model has several enhancements to address this. Most of Wed and Thu looks to have quite a risk of rain, so it will be a gamble who goes out in the dry periods on the right tyres, - and also, with this type of rain, we may see very different patterns over different parts of the circuit. Friday looks decidedly wet, - but we can hope (for the pit-walk fans) that the model has got it wrong. With all the provisos of unpredictability, it appears as if most of the race weekend however could be fairly dry, but it could easily end up with wet stuff from Sunday morning/mid-day ... bad timing perhaps with tired teams and drivers. Latest report from our man with the wet string.
Drizzle for the rest of today, maybe trailing off a bit towards the end of the qualifying session.
Tomorrow (Thursday) it looks similarly humid throughout the 'cars on track' time. (though dry in the morning)
Friday looks wet all day.
Saturday STILL looks dry throughout.
No such luck for Sunday though, where it looks wet from noon onwards..

Weather looks to stay dry for first qualifying session 10pm to midnight, while all of tomorrow's sessions are under some kind of wet stuff, so we have 2 hours of intense qualifying in prospect, and I don't expect many times to improve tomorrow. (unless things change, but the rain tomorrow looks more like a real weather system, and not just convective unpredictable stuff)

At least the wind has died down, but I've just had the salutary message from Orange to unplug my computer because storms are expected. Mind you, they send that message out all the time, but it is likely that qualifying will be wet. Came by your site yesterday on Bleu but no one was there. Will try again during the weekend.
And please everybody, have a minute's silence today to remember all those who lost their lives, all 82 of them, this day 60 years ago.

Update on Thursday morning...
Today (Thursday), very warm (27-29C) and sunny … until right around the time of the first session, when blustery and possibly thundery showers bubble up and cool everything down. Showers/rain conveniently continues right until midnight.
Friday starts with only a drizzle, but somewhat more in the afternoon, so maybe not all too bad for lunch. Temp 22-24C - all trace of rain disappears as the evening progresses. Saturday - dry from start of the day to midnight, temp 22-24C. Sunday however, drizzle from the very early hours to and including the end of the race, at which time the showers seems to be peak. Temp 18-23C. Drizzle continues to the early hours of Monday, - but from lunchtime onwards it looks OK. Temp 18-22C

Yeah yeah!! At 1am the heavens opened, the lightning flashed and the thunder roared. It came down in buckets. But the air is fresher and we should have a nice day. At least it held off until the qualifying stopped.
