tied down car
Excuse my ignorance, but I've never heard the term before.., What does it mean?
Tied down = Well matched springs and damper (for conventional suspension). Often used to express handling without the floating feeling. Ultimate grip may be higher and ride may be sacrificed. But more importantly handling is more predictable so more fun can be had and the limits of adhesion explored and crossed whilst control is retained.
Road testers use the term and I've seen it applied to BMW M4 and Ford Fiesta ST recently.
